This is not the scheduled post. I’ve shelved that for the time being for fear of nasty repercussions. I don’t believe it was inflammatory; in fact, it was well researched and perfectly reasonable. However, as all theistic religions are barbaric at heart, with followers and supporters prepared to take radical action in defence of their particular man-made deity, I’m not prepared to take that risk just yet.
We live in turbulent times and religion is in the midst of it all, maniacally stirring the pot. It may well turn out to be the death of us all. Let us wait and see.

I might have been a tiny bit critical of a different religion and in Starmer’s Britain, you never know what that could lead to. A visit from the constabulary for writing hurty words? A member of the religion in question, finding his sensibilities offended, venturing a call? I know it’s not a vast number, but 200 people read this blog, most of whom I know nothing about!

This comment may not get through, but I agree with you Neil. I can’t believe how quickly Christianity was weaponized in America with MAGA. But MAGA Christianity is a heresy and MAGA churches are cults. Their message is not the message of Jesus. Their tactics are not anything like what Jesus did. Their lives do not reflect the life that Jesus lived. I think you might have been okay with Jesus, but the perversion of MAGA no one can live with.
